Show Spotlight: Loud Love (Tuesday 12am-1am)

On a mission to spread the love loudly, an ex-New Yorker makes the journey from the world of CBGBs, to rocking with the Dropkick Murphys in Boston, back to the old NY stomping grounds, and now stationed to bring Punk Rock to Nashville. There’s great local rock all around us, get out there and experience, D.Rew will be there, and also right here, to broadcast Punk Rock & Hardcore from classic to current, Coast to Coast and Local, to everyone who cares to listen. Raise your fist and play it Loud!    (Click to read more!)

So that you can get better acquainted with Loud Love’s host, here’s a little bit about him:

Name/DJ Name: Drew Wilson/ DJ D. Rew
Show Name: Loud Love
Hometown: The LBC, NY
Major: was Studio Art (don’t like making money)
Had a show since: 2008
Description of your show: Punk and hardcore that may just rock your face clean off!
Favorite greeting: High Five!
Top 5 albums: Wildly fluctuate according to anger <–> joy level.
Favorite artist: Bad Religion (excluding Atlantic years)
Least favorite artist: Everything made on a laptop alone, without instruments or vocals…oh, and Cher
Favorite live concert memory: Dropkick Murphys, live on St. Patrick’s Day, in their hometown of Boston. The pit ended up with a layer about an inch deep of blood, sweat, puke, and Guinness. They made a CD out of it. That’s me on backup, backup, backup x 60 vocals!
Spirit animal: lizard
Hobbies: Turkey bowling, live shows, bringing rock and thunder, jumping on things, and then off them again.
Favorite pit: Mosh/Slamdance. If you’re in a Push Pit or a Circle Pit, you’re doing it wrong.
Greatest phone call received while doing a show: Dave Cloud needed me to play something real sexy.
Wishes he could do his show from: Back at the Beach
Favorite author: Klosterman is my Bokonon
Best album no one knows about: New York Thrash. Legendary early 80’s NY underground punk cassette. Now on CD! So may you know it. It’s yellow and has a crudely drawn rat with a leather vest, mohawk and boots on it. Maybe?
Random facts about yourself: Was a male model exactly once. Appeared in an “adult film” exactly once. Those facts are not related. My first ever concert was Hank Williams Jr. on his “Wow, I didn’t die?” tour that young me won tickets to. In NY. Obviously radio in Nashville was my destiny.
